Metro General Services integrates water conservation practices in how it designs, builds, and manages facilities, both in the interior and exterior of its buildings. By installing low-flow equipment, monitoring indoor water use, instituting stormwater best practices, and planting sustainable landscapes, the department aims to save water and mitigate stormwater runoff. In 2016, the Department’s eighteen high performance buildings saved a total of more than 4,400,000 gallons of water, compared to non-LEED® comparable buildings.
